AI2012-12 Urs to talk to Colin O'Dowd to help write the letter to PR by October 22, 2012. A letter from WMO to PR for Ireland (station manager) informing the background of Mace Head aerosol measurements and ask whether it can help to maintain the GAW aerosol measurements. By December 31, 2012. Update: PL will draft letter from SAG to MHD expressing concern about data quality and submission, by 203-09-15. UB email 2013-10-24: Colin would be happy to obtain support for this to be revisited by the Irish EPA and Met service. He also suggested: A line of action could be to review progress on recommendations from Barrie & Puckett report in terms of an analysis of what was implemented from the recommendations. Also, could be good to arrange a second review of the stations (the measurements have expanded significantly without pro-rata, or any operational support). We need to discuss what we do here.
2013-08-29 update: AW: MHD is not cooperating strongly with ACTRIS or GAW. E.g., no followup with SMPS that was evaluated by WCCAP. CW: also problems with PFR. Stefan Nyeki visits 2/year, but not getting good data. Irish Valencia station is working well. Time to terminate PFR @MHD? PL: What to do about Global GAW stations that don't contribute data? PL: should send a letter from SAG to MHD expressing concern about data quality and submission.

AI2012-42 NS to make sure that SKYNET application includes overlapping station with AERONET and PFR net. 2013-08-27/NS: As to SKYNET, we had the SKYNET workshop on 4-5 July at Chiba University. Delegates from Japan, China, Korea, Mongolia, Thailand, India, Europe attended. We defined SKYNET project, the organization consisting of the SKYNET international committee and SKYNET sub-networks (SKYNET-Japan, SKYNET-China, SKYNET-India, SKYNET-Europe, etc.).
As to SKYNET as a GAW contributing network, each sub-network will exchange the agreement with WMO. We think we will start with well organized stations of SKYNET-Japan at the beginning. We plan to have the PFR-AERONET-SKYNET collocation site at Chiba University where we already have AERONET. We will have the AERONET-SKYNET collocation site probably at Kyushu University (Fukuoka).
