This USB flash drive is for transferring files from the aerosol computer at the Mt. Waliguan GAW station. Please direct questions about these procedures to John Ogren at CMDL +1(303)497-6210, John.A.Ogren@noaa.gov). 1. Insert the flash drive into one of the empty USB expansion ports on the rear of the aerosol rack. WARNING: Do not disturb the flash drive that is permanently plugged into the USB expansion port. 2. Click on the icon "Send Data" on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. 3. Wait a couple of minutes for the data to be archived and copied to the flash drive. 4. Remove the flash drive. 5. Plug the flash drive into a computer that is connected to the internet. This example assumes that the computer runs the Windows operating system. 6. Double-click on "MyComputer", double-click on the "LocalDrive" icon for the flash drive, double-click on "SendData.bat". This will send the data files in the "send" directory on the flash drive to the NOAA/CMDL ftp server. 7. An editor window will open after the files are transferred. The first section of the window will contain a list of the files to transfer, and the second section will contain the transcript of the file transfer session. Examine the transcript and verify that all the files were transferred successfully. 8. If all the files were transferred successfully, delete all the files in the "send" directory on the flash drive. 9. Eject the flash drive, remove it from the computer, and take it back to the station. NOTE: Any USB flash drive can be used for data transfer. Just copy all directories and files that are in the same directory as this readme.txt file to root directory of the new flash drive.
