README file for albedo data measured at fixed and mobile SURFRAD sites Updated 2017.06.15 Instruments: MFRSR: Multi-Filter Rotating Shadowband Radiometer (also called MFR7) Manufactured by Yankee Environmental Systems, Inc. MFR10: Multi-Filter Rotating Shadowband Radiometer (also called MFR7) Manufactured by Yankee Environmental Systems, Inc. Without the shadowband (sensor only) mounted on a tower used to measure reflected spectral irradiance. Spectral albedo is obtained with a MFRSR operating in standard fashion, and a MFRSR head mounted on a tower (MFR10) at ~9 m above the surface for most sites. Wasco, Oregon is an exception as we could not install a 10 m tower. The Wasco MFR10 is about 1 m above the surface. Because of the distances between up-pointing and down-pointing instruments, and the fact we are using instaneous samples, the data can be particularly noisy on partly cloudy days. Note that albedo values greater than 2 were set to the missing value (-9.999). 00 - YYYYMMDDhhmmss 01 - MFRSR time.
