Description: Our research interests are the study of ocean biogeochemical cycles on
regional to global scales and on timescales from months to centuries.
We are particularly interested in investigating the cycles of carbon,
oxygen and nitrogen as well as those of their isotopes.

Description: What is climateprediction.net?
Climateprediction.net is the largest experiment to try and produce a
forecast of the climate in the 21st century. To do this, we need people
around the world to give us time on their computers - time when they have
their computers switched on, but are not using them to their full
capacity.
Why?
Climate change, and our response to it, are issues of global importance,
affecting food production, water resources, ecosystems, energy demand,
insurance costs and much else. There is a broad scientific consensus that
the Earth will probably warm over the coming century;
climateprediction.net should, for the first time, tell us what is most
likely to happen.

Crop Genetics and Environmental Research Unit
Description: This Unit conducts research on crop plants to identify and characterize genes of agronomic importance, to assess the impact of global climate change on future crop productivity, to improve biological nitrogen fixation and to identify alternatives to methyl bromide for protection of crops from soil borne pests.

Colorado Water Science Center
Description: As one of 48 Water Resources Districts of the U.S. Geological Survey, the Colorado District is an integral part of a Federal agency devoted to scientific research, applied science, data collection, and information dissemination. In addition to the District program, the water resources activities of the USGS in Colorado include a Research Program, the National Water Quality Laboratory, and several project offices.

NOAA Paleoclimatology Program 
Description: NOAA works closely with the international PAGES/ CLIVAR initiative to improve our understanding of societally relevant climate variability and our ability to predict future climate change. To achieve our goals in space, or even to become fully aware of the possibilities, our scientists, engineers, business leaders and policy makers must coordinate efforts and properly allocate resources. This has proven to be very difficult due to the conflicting motivations, procedures and "languages" employed by these groups. The Department of Space Studies works to give students a working knowledge of the overall picture so they can become the scientists, engineers, planners, managers, troubleshooters, negotiators and communicators of the space community.

Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research
Description: Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research is New Zealand's foremost environmental research organisation specialising in sustainable management of land resources optimising primary production, enhancing biodiversity, increasing the resource efficiency of businesses, and conserving and restoring the natural assets of our communities. Landcare Research is one of nine independent Crown Research Institutes (CRIs) founded in 1992 from a reorganisation of Government funded research in New Zealand. We have about 390 staff, approximately 320 of whom are involved in research. We have strong collaborative links with other CRIs and universities so we can use the most effective combination of skills on each project. Our researchers are supported by sophisticated technology, analytical laboratories, and specialised support such as legal and graphics services, communications and business development, and an extensive specialised library.

Climate Monitoring and Diagnostics Laboratory (CMDL)
Description: The Climate Monitoring and Diagnostics Laboratory (CMDL) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, conducts sustained observations and research related to source and sink strengths, trends and global distributions of atmospheric constituents that are capable of forcing change in the climate of Earth through modification of the atmospheric radiative environment, those that may cause depletion of the global ozone layer, and those that affect baseline air quality. CMDL accomplishes this mission primarily through long-term measurements of key atmospheric species at sites spanning the globe, including four fully-equipped Baseline Observatories. These key species include carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane, nitrous oxide, surface and stratospheric ozone, halogenated compounds including CFC replacements, hydrocarbons, sulfur gases, aerosols, and solar and infrared radiation.

Canadian Centre for Climate Modelling and Analysis
Description: The web site of the Canadian Centre for Climate Modelling and Analysis. CCCma is a division of the Climate Research Branch of the Meteorological Service of Canada of Environment Canada. We conduct research in coupled and atmospheric climate modelling, sea-ice modelling, climate variability and predictability, the carbon cycle, and a number of other areas.

Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research
Description: The Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research (BCCR) is a joint climate research venture between the University of Bergen (UoB), the Institute of Marine Research (IMR) and the Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center (NERSC). The BCCR integrates observationalists and modellers in a concerted interdisciplinary research effort with the ambition to be a world-class centre on studies of high-latitude climate change. The BCCR is the largest climate research group in Norway. In 2002 it was awarded the status of a national Center of Excellence by the Research Council of Norway.
