Dr. Caroline Alden is a research scientist with the Cooperative Institute in the Environmental Sciences at the University of Colorado at Boulder and an affiliate of the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory. Dr. Alden works on monitoring and mitigation of atmospheric greenhouse gases. Her work includes analysis of global and regionally-representative atmospheric CO2 concentrations and stable isotope signatures as well as monitoring of CH4 at local field sites in arctic ecosystems. She also works on developing advanced methods for CH4 leak detection and quantification for mitigation of emissions along the natural gas supply chain.
Dr. Alden holds a BA from Colorado College, a PhD from the University of Colorado Boulder and was a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University.
