LACE under Construction

Figure 2. Two outside views of a near-completed LACE instrument. Large white cylindrical enclosure contains two-channel GC. White rectangular box contains two compression pumps. Both white enclosures create a pressurized environment for pressure sensitive components. Three black bottles will contain high pressure gases (two calibration standards, one carrier gas). Note the foot long ruler in the foreground for a perspective in size. Photo shows progress on 15 May 1996.

Figure 3. Inside contents of large white cylindrical enclosure that contain four levels. Left photo shows the electronics and computer level. Right photo shows three levels: computer/electronics level at the top and GC on the lower two levels. Fourth level with outside connections is missing.
