Download (CarbonTracker-CH4)

CarbonTracker-CH4 includes access to the following model and observational data. Please see Citation for the CarbonTracker usage policy.

Users may find the NASA/GISS Panoply NetCDF Viewer helpful for working with CarbonTracker NetCDF files.

  • 3-D Mole Fractions

    CH4 mole fraction fields are available in netCDF format. Time resolution is 3-hourly. Mole fractions are available on the global 3x2-degree grid. 3-D visualization of the contents of these files is included on the website under the CH4 Visualization tab.

  • Fluxes

    Global monthly surface fluxes at 3x2-degree spatial resolution in netCDF format. Provided as flux components: microbial, fossil, and pyrogenic emissions. Images of the contents of these files are included on the website under the Fluxes tab.

  • Methane Observations

    Observations of atmospheric CH4 used in the CarbonTracker-CH4 assimilation system are available in ObsPack NetCDF format in the GLOBALVIEWplus v7.0 product. The time series and information of each observation are included on the website under the Observations and Evaluation tabs.

  • Methane Isotope Observations

    Observations of atmospheric δ13C-CH4 used in the CarbonTracker-CH4 assimilation system are available in ObsPack NetCDF format in the Methane Isotope product. The time series and information of each observation are included on the website under the Observations and Evaluation tabs.
