Christian is currently a professional research assistant with the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He splits his time between the Global Radiation Group (GRAD) within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Global Monitoring Laboratory and the U.S Department of Energy's Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) program.
Within the GRAD group at NOAA, Christian works to advance and sustain the Surface Radiation (SURFRAD) budget measurement network as well as the smaller, more urban SOLRAD (formerly ISIS) solar radiation measurement network. When it come to the ARM program, Christian is a co-mentor for the Multi-Filter Rotating Shadowband Radiometer (MFRSR) instrument where his responsibilities include data analysis and quality assessment as well as instrument improvement.
