A simplified NOAA/GMD aerosol optical properties package consisting of a nephelometer and PSAP was deployed at Summit in Spring 2011. This deployment was a collaboration between GML's aerosol group and Georgia Tech (Prof. Michael Bergin (now at Duke University)) funded by NSF. While the Bergin group is no longer involved, GML continues to make measurements of aerosol light scattering and light absorption (now made using a CLAP) at SUM. These data have been included in several recent papers, including Collaud Coen et al. (2020) and Schmeisser et al. (2018). In June 2021 a condensation measurement counter was added to the aerosol system at SUM.
